Christmas

This year was Audrey's first Christmas. Bobby and I were in two minds about getting her Christmas gifts this year. Part of us wanted buy all the freaking goodies you could possibly think of. The other part of us wanted to wrap up cords and boxes from when we moved, because we knew that she would enjoy that more than she would actual gifts.

So we decided to just get some small gifts for her. Audrey's birthday is a week after Christmas, so there are more presents to come.

Christmas morning came, and just like we expected, Audrey had more fun playing in the wrapping paper and leftover boxes from gifts than she did playing with her actual gifts.

In fact, Audrey has one of her toys with her right now and she enjoyed whacking her Uncle Andrew in the face more than the toys.

And that's how Audz took on Christmas.

Car Troubles. A letter to Verona SLX, born in 2004.

Dear Verona,
For three years you have been my main mode of transportation, and if you look past that fact that you guzzle oil and gas, and turn like a boat, you've a pretty good car.  Until recently.
September rolled around and it was time get you registered again. Your check engine light came on and you failed emissions, BIG TIME. For two and a half month no could tell us why your check engine light was on. Not to mention the fact that your battery died and we had to get that replaced.
Finally, Bobby's awesome cousin Casey figured out that your fuel filter needed to be replaced. So it was, and you drive better and your check engine light is no longer on.
I still have problems with you. You are a Japanese made car, and finding a battery for you was the equivalent of sacrificing a small goat. When Bobby changes your oil, you insist on having no less than  seven and a half quarts, and Bobby has to go clear across town to get the right oil filter for you.
So thank you, for being difficult.
Now that we've fixed your major problems, please do Bobby and I a solid, and behave for a while okay?

Thanks,  Megan

P.S. You still turn like a boat....
